The Al Bawaba Group, headquartered in Amman, Jordan, has become the first Middle East-based online media company to apply for interactive membership in BPA Worldwide.
BPA will conduct interactive audits and sub-channel analysis on its network of sites: Albawaba.com, MenaReport, Al Bawaba Blogs, Al Bawaba Music, Al Bawaba Forums, and Al Bawaba Mail.
“Albawaba.com and its related sites are among the leading Arabic/English-language Internet destinations for residents of the Middle East and for all those with specific interests in the Arab world,” said the group’s CEO, Hani Jabsheh. “The Al Bawaba Network provides a rich range of up-to-the-minute news reports and in-depth articles, plus analysis on a variety of Middle Eastern topics, including business, politics, sports, entertainment and health and beauty. Al Bawaba also provides community services such as email, a multilingual blogging channel, a full-service travel site and a Middle East-focused music store.
MenaReport (Middle East and North Africa Business Report), Al Bawaba's business news portal, covers the region’s economy, trade, financial markets and general industry, as well as specific sectors, including IT and telecom; oil and energy; agriculture; advertising and marketing; retail and services; real estate; healthcare; transport, and tourism. MenaReport also provides a free weekly newsletter that is distributed to a growing number of global subscribers.
“2005 saw a very positive turning point for the Middle East online advertising industry,” Jabsheh stressed. “Now more than ever, it’s crucial that advertisers and advertising agencies alike have complete faith in the figures being supplied by the online media they are working with. Al Bawaba is proud to be one of the first commercial Web sites operating within the Middle East to request and undergo an official interactive audit of its traffic.
