BPAs Hansen Elected President of Asia Pacific Audit Bureaux of Circulations (APABC)
Glenn Hansen, president and CEO of BPA Worldwide, has been elected president of APABC, an Asia Pacific regional group within the International Federation of Audit Bureaux of Circulations (IFABC).
Founded in 1963, IFABC is a voluntary, cooperative federation of more than 35 independent, unrelated organizations established in nations throughout the world to verify and report facts about the circulations of publications and related data.
In addition to BPA, whose Asia Pacific office is located in Beijing, China, IFABCs Asia Pacific regional group includes audit bureaus operating in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand and Singapore.
BPA, a founding member of IFABC, currently serves members in 25 countries. In the Asia Pacific region, countries/regions served by BPA, in addition to China, include Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, The Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. BPA entered the China market in 1996, and is the sole independent media auditor operating in that country.
BPA believes strongly in IFABCs mission, which includes working toward greater standardization and uniformity in the reporting of circulations and other data throughout the world, and facilitating exchanges of experience among its member organizations, said Hansen. We are particularly pleased to be asked to play a leadership role in the Asia Pacific Regional Group. Sound media auditing standards and practices will play a critical role in furthering the growth and success of the burgeoning media industries that are making significant economic contributions to this important region of the world.
